I had a hard time getting invested in Jacob Decker. In the beginning it was because he didn’t seem to notice Emme until the changes. Don’t get me wrong, they were friends before, but nothing romantic until later. The author, who is one of my favs, gave a lot of reasons why this was the case, but it all just felt like excuses to me.
Even when he was explaining to Chase why she was the one he used her picture, so the physical, to explain it, instead of just saying something about her other non-physical attributes.
Plus, I think we can start a drinking game and be drunk by the time we finish just for how many times we are told how smart he is. I get it, you don’t have to hit me over the head with it.
What’s up with Emme’s family not taking her to therapy after her ordeal all those years ago. They all should went, but especially her.
Other than that, I did enjoy the rest. Plus, the sex scenes in this book were way steamier than the previous books that I have read by this author thus far.
