Against the Sun

Against the Sun (The Raines of Wind Canyon, #6)Against the Sun by Kat Martin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jake Cantrell is definitely my type of man. I love big strong alpha’s and he fits that description all the way.
I am a self professed romance-aholic. I love my romance hot and steamy and it doesn’t hurt to have a little bit of intrigue.

That being said, this book had all of the above. Jake and Sage were hot from their very first meeting and they hadn’t even gotten to the sex. They have the kind of chemistry that just leaps off the pages at you. We owe that to Kat Martin’s wonderful writing.

This is a romantic suspense and I am glad to say that for the first time in a long time, I had a hard time pinpointing the culprits in this story. As soon as I thought I knew what was really going on, I was thrown for a loop. This story was definitely multifaceted. There was a lot going on, but it was all seamlessly put together.

I didn’t realize that this was a book in a series, because it read so well as a standalone. I will be going back to the beginning though to get the previous story and I will be impatiently waiting for the next.
